Documentary and photographic archive
This section was created in 1993 to conserve and make available for research family archives that were difficult to access. Through acquisition or by temporary deposit from the owner families, a database has been created comprising almost 100,000 described and digitised documents belonging to various archives whose chronological scope ranges from the 13th to the 21st century. The photographic collection is made up of the deposit of the graphic archives of the former Caja de Ahorros Municipal de Vitoria, Caja de Ahorros Provincial de Álava, and Caja Vital Kutxa, which in addition to its own events and activities, is a faithful reflection of Alava society since the end of the 19th century. The collection continues to grow and is completed with other private and domestic archives belonging to families and citizens who contribute to the study and knowledge of Basque and Alava's ethnography and history.
