Sancho el Sabio: journal of Basque culture and research is an interdisciplinary scientific journal. It specialises in Basque issues, understood in the broadest sense. The journal has been published since 1991 under the sponsorship of Fundación Vital, the Sancho el Sabio Foundation, a Basque culture documentation centre based in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Sancho el Sabio has an external evaluation system, carried out by academics and professionals of recognised prestige.
